About Us

Wind, Water, Cloth, Rope – and You

We have been around since 1950. Our membership has grown 50% since 2009.

We welcome everyone interested in non-motorized water sports: Sailing, Rowing, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Swimming

We are home to the Pirates of the Cubarrean Sailing Academy, the only learn-to-sail program in the Southern Tier, with lessons and adventures for both children and adults. In 2014, we had over 50 “Pirates” sign the roll.

We teach sailing all week from July 1 to mid-August – Pirates during the day, adults in the evenings. We race on Sundays, and hold four in-house regatta weekends over the summer.

We have regular social gatherings, where friends and families can enjoy each others’ company all summer long.

We have a launching ramp, two motorized hoists, and ample room to keep sailboats at the club.

We have nearly five acres of space, with big lawns for games, a beach area for swimming, a long pier for docking, and a large open pavilion for parties and receptions.

We have great people and nice kids to be with and get to know, all of whom love the Great Outdoors!
