About Us

Wind, Water, Cloth, Rope – and You

Cuba Lake Yacht Club was founded in 1950.

Our club welcomes everyone interested in non-motorized water sports: Sailing, Rowing, Kayaking, Canoeing, and Swimming.

We are home to the Pirates of the Cubarrean Sailing Academy, the only learn-to-sail program in the Southern Tier, with lessons and adventures for both children and adults. Through the years, many of our youth sailors have gone on to sail in college racing programs or as adult sailors.

Our sailing education also extends to adults with private lessons available and a Woman’s Sailing night during the summer weekday nights.

The Cuba Lake Yacht Club has regular social gatherings, where friends and families can enjoy each other’s company all summer long.

Our facilities include a club launch ramp, two motorized hoists, and ample room for storage of your sailboats on the club grounds. We have five acres of space, with big lawns for games, a beach area for swimming, a long pier for docking, and a large open pavilion for parties and receptions.

We have great people and nice kids to be with and get to know, all of whom love the Great Outdoors!
